The trees are looking quite beautiful around here lately. My only problem, with football season in full swing, is it's quite lonely around here on the weekends. That's why I've set up for you! Gee, I really should get on board with the football though, I bet I could have some fun with those tailgating tablescapes! LOL!
Alas, for those of us who are not that thrilled to be so left out of all the fun, I have come to the rescue. So pack up your goodies and join me for an enjoyable autumn evening.
I started my setting with this beautiful tablecloth that I made years ago from some old draperies from my in laws house. I just loved the fabric and when they sold the house I was able to get all the drapes.
Look how well it went with my newest dishes that I purchased last week at the thrift store.
Do you recall I told you my one dinner plates was going to actually be a cake plate? Well here it is, just waiting for a few real treats. I thought you might like to see how it can look when you bring your goodies!
The plates is balanced on a brown Dansk candlestick to give it more height.
I even pulled out my grandmothers wine glasses for you.
I've supplied the napkins and forks in case you bring something that requires a little more then fingers.
In the center I placed my newest pottery barn thrift find. I added the glass candle holders since I already had them on hand. Not to bad, huh?
I also added my cornucopia with a little fall color...
...and my newest spotted glass fall pumpkin. It even has the perfect blue to match everything!
Oh goodness, where are my manners? Would you like a glass of wine?
Did you see those trees out there! Isn't it just gorgeous this time of year?
I hope you'll come! I've plenty of room on the bakers rack to set out more treats.
It's Tablescape Thursday and I'm ready for some company! I've set everything up a bit early because I have heard bloggers photo download is going to be closed for maintenance after 5:00pm today. Besides, what kind of hostess would I be if I sent my invite out too late?
What are you waiting for? You've been invited, so come on over!
Mary
I will be right over Mary....I could use a glass of vino...even if it is only 11:09 am!!~ Your table looks gorgeous with your new found dishes...pretty setting too!
ReplyDeleteHow fun this looks, Mary. I am in love with your tablecloth...I never would have thought it had once been drapes, you did a marvelous job sewing! I like, too, how you elevated the dinner plates, that leaves so much room and really looks great. The dishes are beautiful and I love the cornicopia! Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Janie
I am ready to come join you. Wine sounds good. I saw that about the photo maintenance tonight at 5 Pacific time which will be 8 for me. I hope they don't change stuff too much. I hate to keep relearning their stuff. Love the tablecloth fabric colors. Waiting to go help with the grandbaby. She is a little jaundice so leaving has been delayed.

ReplyDeleteI was drawn to the print immediately and think it looks beautiful with the rest of the table. I am nuts about those dishes. Can't believe you got them at a thrift store. And I LOVE the way you turned one into a pedestal plate.
Oh! And love those goblets too.

ReplyDeleteI adore the tablecloth. I took the drapes out of my husband's grandmother's house when her home was sold, too. I used some of the fabrice to make drapes for our living room. Your new plates are perfect with the cloth. Great design choice. Thank you for sharing your charming tablescape. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteGreat table, I will be over, looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteLove how you tied in all the colors of the table cloth with everything. Nice job!
Linda
What a wonderfully inviting table you've set, Mary! I love all the bright blue accents & your "drapery" tablecloth is luscious. You've got a great eye to pick up on those plates to match.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done! I'd gladly join you out there, as I'm not much into football either. Waste of time...I'd rather be sewing!
Speaking of which, I have the Brother Innovis 4000D, which has Disney designs built in. It has a large hoop for doing bigger embroidery designs. Its pretty tough but I don't know about sewing several layers of duck cloth type canvas for your boat. I think you'd need a more industrial model. There is a 6000PR with fast frames, which does JUST embroidery alone. I guess it depends on exactly what you want to sew! Hope this helps you a bit.
Just love your tablescape sorry I can't join you. I'v done the same with lace curtains they just fit my table for a elegant table
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty table. The tablecloth is gorgeous! Love the speckled glass pumpkin too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous table!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks very beautiful! When I saw that tablecloth I thought, "Gorgeous -- it must be the latest from April Cornell's collection!" I'd never have dreamed you made it from drapes -- my kind of recycling! Love the thrifted plates and the way you've brought the colors of nature in autumn to your welcoming table.
ReplyDeleteWarmest regards,
Bill
