Thankful Tablescape

Hello Blogland!  I couldn't resist sharing a Thankful tablescape with you because I've got so much to be thankful for, much of which never comes across on this blog.  Some of you have asked again where I've been.  Well, the long and short of it is, I've been working! My new job now in retail allows me to work during the week and have my weekends and Mondays off.  What a blessing that is, and I love it!

I am not blogging as much these days because it's really just not that much of a priority to me. Quite simply, I've decided to leave the everyday blogging to all you wonderful and inspirational professional bloggers.  I do hope that there's still room out here for those like me who want to pop in on occasion and share.  I am still looking at your blogs and gaining beautiful inspiration and ideas as I am sure you can see from much of what I share as well.  So....without further ado, here's a Thanksgiving tablescape that I hope you will enjoy!

Love my turkey basket.  It was from Ah, at home.  Too bad they are no longer in business.

I decided to give this years setting a mixture of old and new.

The "Be Thankful" bags were from Michaels last year.

I just couldn't resist using these linen placemats that I purchased from a church/yard sale a few years back.  I just love the fall colors of the crewelwork on them.

My fabulous Lenox dinner plate is from my Butlers Pantry collection.

And the salad plates were from TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Now, isn't this the cutest little thing?  I found these corn holder plates at a local thrift store.  I love that they are just the perfect color match to my Butlers Pantry dishes as well.

Here' s some new! New style and new linens.  I just had to make these chevron napkins this year to be a little trendy ya know!
I like the way the chevron coordinated with my runner I purchased a few years ago from Joanne fabrics.

I used my grandmothers crystal with the gold etchings for the wine and these pretty gold goblets purchased from a resale store were the perfect choice for tea.

Gobble, gobble shakers were from Ross.

From this view, I think either my brown or woven place mats may have been a better choice but then I wouldn't have gotten to use the linen ones...and well, I like those...alot!!! LOL!

These candlesticks were the perfect choice of color.  I love how well they coordinated with my runner.

And the pine cone candles have always reminded me of fall.

Here's a little trick I learned from all of you bloggers.  Wrap some jute twine around almost anything and it will add just that extra touch of cuteness!

I've also done a little rearranging in the dining room too.  I moved my china hutch off the side wall and placed it on the back wall of the dining room where the marble table and mirror used to be.  I had another side table in here where this black sideboard is now and the black side board was where the marble table is now.  Basically, I took out one of the extra side tables because it was feeling just a little too crowded to me. Even though we only use this room a few times a year, I still like it to feel as spacious as possible.  I still revamping this room little by little.  Hoping to find a new rug this year.  Now that's quite a challenge.  Would love any suggestions on that!

Well, there's my Thankful table y'all!  I hope you enjoyed it.

I can hardly wait to get things set up for Christmas this year.  I am literally chomping at the bit.  I may even break tradition and do it this weekend.  Well, maybe.
We shall see!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I wish each of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Fall Decor Box Found!

Yay!  I found the rest of my missing fall decor.  It was in the attic packed safely away in a large plastic container!   Most of my fall decor is in card board boxes in the attic.  I totally forgot that I had added a plastic container last year to store some of the fall decor, as I do with my Christmas decor.  The fall tub was mixed in with all the other Christmas plastic tubs so it took a little digging, but I am so glad I found them.

Among many other fall items that I was missing and forgot I had, these are my glass pumpkins that I was sooo desperately looking for.

I knew they would be the perfect fall accent to place here next to my new rocker.  I purchased the rocker and the throw a few weekends ago from a local estate sale.

This is my first glass pumpkin I purchased several years ago.

Last year I added the teal and brown blown glass pumpkin.

I am loving how they look on this little table by the rocker!

Can you believe my luck in finding this beautiful crochet lap throw?   It was displayed with several others in different colors in a closet at the sale.  I knew immediately it would be the perfect match to my other turquoise decor in the den, and I was right!

The rocker was also a super great find!  It's an off white color.  I know this is supposed to be outdoor furniture but for the time being I am enjoying it inside.

The off white seat cushion was included, and I can't believe how much I like it.  I am really, really loving the neutral calm that this chair is adding to my room.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I just had to share this new view with you too.  I have already set up a cute little coffee table vignette from my long lost box as well.  Maybe I can share that with you later this week.   So come on by again if you like!

Hope you all have a great week!

Pumpkins and Jacks on the Porch

I am doing something a little different on the front porch this year.  Instead of spreading out my jack-o-lanterns on the steps like I always do, I decided to group them all together along with a few other things.

I really love the look of tons of real pumpkins all over a front porch.  Only, I've never been one to buy a bunch of pumpkins for fall.  I guess I'm just kinda cheap like that.

Soooo..... I decided to use what I have!

I also decided to make a few more pumpkins to go with the ceramic jacks.  I found this orange burlap remnant this summer on clearance at Hancock Fabrics.  I simply filled it with paper wrapped around several wine corks to give it some weight, tied it off with twine and painted the ends green for leaves.  How simple was that, right?

The checked pumpkins were on the $1.00 isle at Target one year and this floral arrangement is one I'm sure you've seen before.  The lantern is a new purchase from Ah, at Home this year.

I am so excited about my new sign.  I just made it this morning.  I was trying to make something to put in my booth to sell but I just can't part with it now.

I still have 5 more blank slate tiles this size that I purchased from a yard sale one day.  Maybe I will make another one to sell....maybe.

What can I say, I am bad like that.  But, I sure do just love how it turned out though!

I guess you could say I'm ready for fall and Halloween now.
LOL!

I am still searching for a lost box of fall decor.  I am so upset because it has another vine pumpkin, a few of my carved out scroll pumpkins, my pumpkin with words, my fall berry wreath and two of my beautiful blown glass pumpkins.  I have searched this house high and low and cannot find them.  They have to be in the attic still which is crammed full of stuff.  Stuff I need to take to my booth.  Hopefully, I will tackle that project soon. Maybe next weekend.

Thanks for stopping by Y'all!
Have a great week!

Fall Mantle Decor - 2013

Hey All! Yesterday, I added a few fall decorations around the house and this morning we woke up to cooler temps.  Wow!  I should have decorated sooner.  LOL!

I thought you might like to see my fall mantle and few other simple arrangements.  I haven't gone all out this year.  I am still searching for a missing a box of my fall decor.  I am sure I will find it eventually.  Despite the missing decor, I knew I didn't have many fall leaves around to decorate with so I made a trip to Michael's last week on my lunch break and pick up a garland and a few bushes of colorful fall leaves and a bush of berries.  It's always amazing to me how just a few simple leaves make such a difference in creating a cozier and more fallish look.  I took lot's of pics to share so you can see all the different elements I used to get this look.

So what do you think?  I just love how the mantle turned out this year!

I  already had some greenery tucked in this vase, so I simply added a few cattails and leaves from last years fall decorating to get this look.

This arrangement was from last year too.  I only added two fall arrangements in the kitchen.  This one and the one on the breakfast table below.

Let's take a closer look...

Such warm colors will be so nice this fall when the temps stay cooler.

I can't wait until it's cool enough to have a cozy fire in the fireplace too.
What about you?  Are you decorating for fall yet, or at all?

Let me know if you are, I'd love to pop by and see your decor as well.
Have a beautiful blessed Sunday everyone!

And....

Happy Fall Y'all!!!!
