The return of Miss Abby

Hi Ladies!  I've been flying around blogland tonight to see what's up.  Looks like there's quite a flurry of witches gathering around the tables everywhere this week.  With all due respect, I guess it's just been one of those weeks everywhere!   I am not sure Miss Abby will host her little get together this year but I can assure you there has definitely been no shortage of witches around my neck of the woods lately.  LOL!

So to honor this very witchy occassion, I thought I would share a repost of one of my favorite tablescapes from Halloween of last year.  Hope you enjoy!

Welcome to Miss Abigail's table!

She has been quite busy conjuring up just the right mix for her brew.

Be forewarned my friends!  Miss Abby may look like a sweet little old lady, but don't be fooled!

She hasn't just dabbled on the dark side, Oh No!  She is quite well versed in the ways of witchery!

She knows what it takes to serve a tasty treat for her crafty friends!   I've heard she is not yet satisfied with her brew and so has decided to cast a spell for the final ingredients.  Oh My!!!

What could it be, do you see anything missing?  Let's take a closer look!

Hmmm???  I see creepy crawly spiders that are sure to put a spin on things....

.....and dirty rats to get rid of all those clean thoughts....

....and she's even added a few bats to keep you hanging around!

Looks like she has added a few black birds who can't be trusted.  Remember, they are known for stealing you know!

A touch of crow for humility maybe? Hmm???

Shakers filled with the dust from a witch's boot for spicing things up a bit.

Why she's even laid out the silver goblets....

.....for savoring all that bad blood she is serving!

So what could it be?  What am I missing here?

I see she's set a place setting for her most mysterious friend the night owl!

And there's a setting for old Jack-O-lantern too, the grinning fool!
Looks like she planning to entertain a spooky friend as well.

Oh!  This has to be her own place setting!  So what's the problem right?

Oh No!  I think I see it now.  Where are our place settings, weren't we invited too?

Look closely at her brew!  Everyone know's you can't have a good witches brew without a few eyeballs.  Seems Miss Abigail has looked high and low, but could not find them anywhere!

Quick!  Turn your eyes away now!

That wicked old witch has cast a spell and plans to steal your eyes!

 That's why she is
 attending BNOTP for

Happy Halloween!

Thanks so much for dropping by Ladies!  I am sharing this post with the following parties:
Tablescape Thursday

Hope your have a spooktacular week!

It's a Mad Men's Life

Hey Yall!  Keeping up with the blog is getting more and more tough these days as we move into the holidays.  It's all work, work, work, for me.    I've got the weekend off and am totally enjoying some free time.  I hope to get together a few things to share with you soon but thought you might enjoy a quick peek a little obsession that I enjoy during my down time.

A Modern Retro Life
I love creating vignettes and images and Olioboard allows you to do just that with a click of the button.  I know I've showed you a few of my boards before but do not get to spend a lot of time creating these.  I recently worked on another one that was kinda fun, so I thought I 'd share it with you too.  This one is based on the concept of what my life would be like as a Draper.  You know from the Mad Men series.   LOL!  Well, here you are!

I am so not a modern or retro kinda gal but it was fun to create this based on the idea of what I would like if I was.  This website is such a fun and creative tool!  Well, that's it for now, time to get out and about.  Hope you enjoyed this little  fun vignette as much as I did.  What life would you like to create for yourself for fun?

Have a great weekend!

Our visit to Tybee Island

Hey yall! How's life treating ya?  Mine has been pretty busy and about to get even busier (the life of a retailer) so I am so glad I got to get away for a nice little vacation recently.  If you follow my blog you already know that my husband and I finally got to visit Tybee Island and Savannah, Georgia.  I have been wanting to go here for a few years now.

I recently promised to share a few photos from my trip so here they are.
Here I am standing (smirking) in our cute and cozy little condo for two!

Rarely do I share pictures of myself but since I was all gussied up and ready to go to dinner this night I thought these would be okay to share.

We were going to Uncle Bubba's (Paula Deen's brother) restaurant for dinner this night.

This was the view off our balcony.  It wasn't Ocean Front but was Ocean View.

We stayed on the north end of Tybee Island.  It's the end that feeds into the Savannah River.

It's also the end of the beach where the boats occasionally come by.  This was a shrimp boat that came by and parked close in for awhile.

We sat back in our beach chairs every evening to enjoy watching the dolphins play.  I've never seen so many dolphins in one area regularly.  They even jumped up high doing back flips a few times.  It was so fun to see them!

Here are a few more random shots of the North shore at Tybee.

There were a few beautiful homes on the North shore.  I love how they did not look like the typical beach homes you see on the coast.

Check out this door to the beach!

On our first full day at Tybee we went downtown to the South beach area to check it out.

Lot's of Oceanfront condos with public parking in the front, but it's not free. Be prepared to pay everywhere for parking on Tybee. LOL!

Here are a few shots of the pier at Tybee.

We also decided to do a little walking around the furthermost point of Tybee on the South end to check out the homes.

There is quite a variety of styles.

I just love this little scene I spied through the trees...

...and this one over the fence.

There were so many attractive beach homes both old and new.

And so many colorful ones too!

The next day we toured the riverfront at Savannah which is only about 15 to 20 minutes away.

Here is a  memorial statue of the waving girl who was often seen waving the ships in.

My yacht! Haha!  I wish!  But seriously, this was one big beautiful boat!

We had lunch here outside on the upstairs patio at Tubbie's.  It was delicious!

Then we returned back to the condo just in time to  catch a glimpse of a barge ship passing by...

..and to soak my tired feet in the ocean just before sunset.

I see a Mermaid in this photo, do you?

What a gorgeousness beach and weekend!

I hope you enjoyed our visit to Tybee Island as much as we did.  My husband actually enjoyed Savannah just so much that he wants to return again to check out the rest of the city in more detail.  There's so much to see there you can't possibly do it all in one day.  I give both these locations a big thumbs up!

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
